10 Rules to Fuel your Life, Work and Team with Positive Energy

Jon Gordon writes in The Energy Bus, “No one goes through life untested, and the answer to these tests is positive energy.” Fortunately he is not referring to rah-rah kind of positive energy, instead he refers to “the kind of positive energy consisting of vision, trust, optimism, enthusiasm, purpose, and spirit that defines great leaders and their teams.” energy bus

The Energy Bus is a well-executed fable that reveals 10 secrets for approaching life and work with the kind of positive, forward thinking that leads to true accomplishment – at work and at home. The story will resonate with anyone’s life experience. The 10 rules are:

  1. You’re the Driver of the Bus.
  2. Desire, Vision and Focus move your bus in the right direction.
  3. Fuel your Ride with Positive Energy.
  4. Invite People on Your Bus and Share your Vision for the Road Ahead.
  5. Don’t Waste Your Energy on those who don’t get on your Bus.
  6. Post a Sign that says “No Energy Vampires Allowed” on your Bus.
  7. Enthusiasm attracts more Passengers and Energizes them during the Ride.
  8. Love your Passengers.
  9. Drive with Purpose.
  10. Have Fun and Enjoy the Ride.

I love Jon Gordon’s take on these rules! Visit your library to get a copy of his book, and The Energy Bus website, where there are even bus tickets available, which you can email or print out to invite people on your bus. How fun is that?

After reading The Energy Bus, I feel inspired by Jon’s positive energy to drive my bus with purpose. So, I am reading my next book, The Purpose Driven Life. Won’t you join me?
