Jaffery Latrines

June 24, 2008

The latrines at Jaffery Primary School in Kenya have gone through quite a lot over the past year. A series of storms-complete with flooding and severe winds-left the latrines in shambles and the community wondering how to get the funds necessary to rebuild the structure.

A few months ago, the school headmaster approached Trivani’s country manager in Kenya and submitted a proposal for the latrine. Trivani and Choice Humanitarian then worked together with community leaders to mobilize a development committee responsible for the project. This committee consisted of the school headmaster, teachers, parents, and village leaders.

The latrines are now complete, thanks to the teamwork of both the parents and the school management. The school has since expressed its sincere gratitude for the support of the Trivani Foundation in helping them to complete this important project.
